EARLY LIFE
Rajinikanth hailed from a Maharashtrian family. Rajinikanth’s father Ramoji Rao Gaekwad, was a police constable in Bangalore while his mother Ramabai was a homemaker. He is the last born of four siblings with two elder brothers Satyanarayana Rao and Nageshwara Rao and one sister Aswath Balubhai.
The actor as a child attended Gavipuram Government Kannada Model Primary School before going to the Acharya Pathasala Public School for his pre-university studies. After this, he worked in several menial jobs, and later became a bus conductor in Bangalore Transport Service (BTS). Rajinikanth pursued a diploma course in acting at the Madras Film Institute, where he caught the attention of filmmaker K. Balachander.

On the 26th of February 1981, Rajinikanth wed Latha Rangachari. The couple is blessed with two daughters Lathasri and Moondrampirai Soundarya Rajinikanth. Rajinikanth’s industrial career has started around the 1970s. In fact, he started his career in Tamil films under the guidance of popular director K. Balachandar. Rajinikanth made his acting debut in the film Apoorva Raagangal (1975). It was a supporting role of a television actor.
